Transparent plastic film, 1mm thick. UV-resistant, waterproof, rot-resistant. For windows, veranda or terrace screening, or as table protective film. Crystal clear transparent sail. Unmatched technical properties.
This transparent sail with a film thickness of 1.0mm stands out not only in terms of strength and durability but also because of its truly CRYSTAL CLEAR properties.
Note: For easier handling during the transport of the material, we recommend spraying the film with silicone spray. If you want to process a thicker film with a household sewing machine (with a strong motor), use the 0.50 or 0.65 film and also apply silicone spray to facilitate the needle. The 0.30 film (also available in our webshop) can be processed with any household sewing machine at any time. SEE OUR CONFECTION VIDEOS BELOW.
Compare these technical values with other transparent films!
The technical properties of our transparent PVC film are unmatched. Therefore, we can confidently say that you will not find this elsewhere. In any case, it is worth comparing with other suppliers, especially concerning UV resistance!
(P.S. Don't forget our double-sided tape so you can position the film exactly after 'acclimatizing' and sew it in place. See detailed information below.)
24 Hours Flat Lay:
Transparent window film can still stretch or shrink slightly. If a large amount of film needs to be tensioned in one direction, shrinkage can be a problem with temperature fluctuations. If the sail remains tensioned all year round, the film will stay at length and you will notice minimal shrinkage.
Upon receipt: When you receive our window film, it is fresh from the roll. Let it "acclimatize" for 24 hours to allow the film to handle any shrinkage or temperature fluctuations. Don't forget to use our double-sided tape to precisely position the film on the fabric/sail. See confection videos below.
After Long-Term Use:
When the material has been rolled up for a long time, the film may shrink slightly with temperature changes and needs to be stretched again. This should not be done by forcing the material back into the original tension. Solution: Keep the material under tension so it doesn't have a chance to shrink. So, don't leave it rolled up all summer. If this is not possible and you are storing it for the winter, do the following: Make sure to hang the sail or fabric in a warm room for 24 hours, so the film becomes flexible. Then, slowly bring the sail into tension to give it time to stretch.
Another practical solution: Use a space heater in an enclosed room to make the transparent film flexible, and then slowly tension the film.
