Inner tent fabric
Inner tent fabric, sleeping cabin fabric or for blackout inner tent or sleeping cabin. Water-repellent and fungicide-treated.
Is the fabric for the inner tent a standard tent fabric? No. The special feature of this inner tent fabric is that the polyester retains the warmth in the inner tent and that this polyester component is not susceptible to mould. The cotton component allows the tent to breathe and keeps the temperature in the tent comfortable. The best of both worlds, in other words.
To keep this inner tent fabric light, our fabrics are woven in a special flat weave that has a high tear resistance. Applications: Inner tent in awnings or tents or as a sleeping cabin in the tent trailer tent / tent trailer.

What is special about inner tent fabrics? Breathable, frost-proof, water-repellent, fungus-resistant
A fabric for an inner tent can be made of 100% cotton. This is breathable, especially when the outside temperatures are warm. However, a mix of cotton and synthetic fibres can also be used in frosty conditions. In addition to the pleasant, breathable, natural cotton content, a blend of around 52% polyester and 48% cotton is the best mix. In this combination, the fabric remains both breathable (due to the cotton) and heat-retaining in frosty conditions (due to the polyester content) and therefore dries more quickly if the inner tent or sleeping cabin has become damp due to breathing, perspiration or moisture in the tent or trailer tent.
From a pragmatic point of view, a 100% inner tent fabric is good and functional. But as a camper, you don't want to get below 0 degrees in the inner tent or sleeping cabin and you don't want to sleep too hot in summer. In this case, the blend mentioned above is the best choice. The inner tent fabric should at least be a dimensionally stable, weatherproof, durable and abrasion-resistant special tent fabric, but the fabric should still be pleasant to the touch.
Weather resistance: Our inner tent fabric is slightly water-repellent impregnated and prevents mould growth. But this has a serious background: the inner tent should always be kept bone dry. After all, you should never give mould the opportunity to grow...
Blackout fabric as inner tent fabric for sleeping cabin tents
One of the few disadvantages of sleeping in a tent is the morning light. Especially when the sun is shining. Sleeping in is then often not an option. One solution is to use the inner tent fabric as a blackout fabric for the sleeping cabin. We also have a variant for this, click here. Washing the fabric of an inner tent
As already mentioned, our inner tent fabric is slightly water-repellent and mould-repellent impregnated. As soon as the sleeping cabin of a tent goes into the washing machine, this finish is washed out. There is also the possibility that the inner tent will shrink slightly after drying. After all, the fabric contains cotton. In practice, this shrinkage can be compensated for by the rubber rings that are often used to hang a sleeping cabin in a tent or trailer tent.
If the fabric has nevertheless become dirty or stained and you decide to wash the inner tent again: set the washing machine to the ‘delicate’ programme and wash for a SHORT time at 20 degrees. Then rinse well with plenty of water and leave the sleeping cabin to air dry for a long time.
