Our black waterproof stretch fabric is not standard. Due to the stretchability and the following highly distinctive technical characteristics of this stretch fabric, the perfect fit can be created for a cover, boat, spare tire, pillow, small canopy, etc. In short: that which must remain dry outside. How stretchable is our waterproof stretch fabric? See our short video (7 seconds) via the tab at the top right of this page and all pictures. The stretch applies to both the length and width of the fabric. This makes this polyester fabric a so-called 4 way stretching fabric: elastic to 4 sides. The technical cause is the stretchable polyester, which is coated on one side with an equally thick polyurethane layer. This is why this stretch fabric is so unrivalled waterproof. This is demonstrated by the waterproofness of this fabric, which has a water column of no less than 50 metres! See the very distinctive technical characteristics, mentioned at the bottom.

Our waterproof stretch fabric is even washable up to 95º and tested against harmful substances.

The core of our polyester/p.u. stretch fabric is the construction and execution. That's why we already set strict quality requirements when choosing the fabric, which are then frequently tested to achieve the best result. This determined approach ensures durable, wear- and dimensionally stable fabrics, in which stretchability and strength obviously play a crucial role. ESVO's stretch fabric has recently been certified with the severe German Öko-Tex® standard 100 label. This means that the stretch fabric has been tested for harmful substances. All components, without exception, meet the requirements of the German Öko-Tex® criteria. This sign is easily recognisable and a sign of trust for the user. Of course, our stretch fabric is PVC-free. The waterproof stretch fabric is not only impermeable to water, but is also oil-repellent.

Finishing/stitching of this stretch fabric: with zig-zag stitch

When you are going to use this waterproof stretch fabric or finishing on the sewing machine it is very advisable to set a so-called zig-zag stitching. This is in order to prevent the needle from breaking. To sew this stretch fabric you can also use special needles: the so-called stretch or ballpoint needles are therefore suitable for this kind of elastic fabric.
