Apart from ESVO's own aluminium telescopic tent poles there is also an alternative: the original Mostert telescopic tent poles made of thick-walled, seamless Dural precision tube with anodised aluminium. The reason why ESVO has included two ranges of Mostert poles (telescopic and bow poles) is: the Mostert tent pole is a well known name and literally and figuratively stands for something. For example, a 12 Beaufort storm was simulated during a tent pole test carried out by the A.N.W.B. The original Mostert tent poles were the only ones to survive this extreme test. Esvo's telescopic tent poles came in second with the qualification 'very functional'...

Features of the original aluminium Mostert telescopic tent pole 150 cm

• telescopic pole, made of thick-walled, seamless Dural aluminium precision tube 
• cleverly nestable and 80% volume reduction: the parts can be easily pushed together, leaving a compact aluminium pole of only 50 cm

Background information on the original Mostert aluminium tent poles

The technician Adriaan Mostert wanted to go camping just after the war, in 1947. The quality of the tent poles at the time was very disappointing: they could not withstand fierce gusts of wind, they were too heavy and they took up too much space. All this motivated Adriaan Mostert to invent his own tent pole, which did meet his requirements for being able to camp without the tent collapsing. He tested many materials and windy conditions. After all this thorough and lengthy research, he arrived at a special, yet lightweight aluminium, which achieved optimum strength. On top of this, Mr Mostert devised a clever so-called "nestable" stacking system for his tent poles: the aluminium poles could be inserted into each other very easily. In this way the volume could be reduced by 80%. Today the original Mostert pole is still a household name, because these poles stand for all-round quality and workmanship.
