The Docril N  boat canvas series is distinguished by its waterproofness(water column of min. 105 centimeters), which makes them the best option for sailboats and sailing lovers who need a higher water column to avoid leaks. The boat canvas Docril N has an excellent stability and is certified with the maximum value of solar protection(80+), according to the European UV Standard 801.
This boat canvas also has a protective barrier that repels dirt, easing the cleaning and maintenance of the boat fabric. *The weather fastness of a fabric consists of colour fastness and the influence of UV-radiation on a damp cloth, where the raindrops act as if they were a magnifying glass on the cloth. Sun awning fabric has a weather fastness of 8, which is the highest classification. Docril Garden scores a 7-8 on the blue scale. There is simply no higher value in colour fastness for outdoor furniture fabrics.

If you are going to process this  boat canvas yourself: keep the coating on the inside. So use the fabric with the ‘nice’ side up(=outwards) and the coated site inward.

Intrinsic and long lasting colors
Docril N  boat fabric is manufactured with solution dyed acrylic fibers. The solution-dyeing process incorporates the pigments into the molecules of the fiber, creating stronger bonds than the ones that would be achieved by dyeing the thread or the fabric. This means that the fabrics have very low vulnerability to the effects of UV rays, and we can guarantee the brightness and color fastening for many years. The colors of Docril N boat canvas come from bulk-dyed fibers, guaranteeing an intrinsic and lasting color which, according to current standards, is categorized as a 7-8 on the blue scale.

Stains
Docril N fabrics are treated to resist staining from oil-based products, ensuring that splashes, dry stains and spills can be easily cleaned with a dry cloth, and dry stains can be brushed off easily. The official rating for the Oil Test is from a grade to a grade 6, the latter being the highest and which is achieved by our Docril N Fabrics.
The technical coating applied on the Docril N fabrics, provides a homogeneous color vision in both faces of the fabric without the without the “whitish” appearance on the coated layer.

Finishing
The Docril N ® boat canvas has a finishing that prevents the growth of microorganisms (bacteria , fungi and algae ) that can affect the fabric in humid environments. It prevents from mold growing and functional fabric deterioration, maintaining good appearance of the fabric and increasing its durability. Docril N is AOZ free (absorbable organic halides ), it avoids the odor caused by the attack of microorganisms.

Maintenance of Docril N to achieve a longer life expectancy and a better look of the boat fabric.s

We suggest cleaning your Docril boat fabric with a soft bristle brush and rinsing with water. For localised stains clean with a neutral detergent(preferably not...) mixed with lukewarm water (maximum 104º F / 40º Celsius) and then rinse. The boat fabric must be left to dry completely before it is rolled up. If the awning has to be rolled up when the fabric is still wet, this can be air dried but never hot dried, although the boat fabric, due to its technical characteristics, dries very fast itself. This is a special (non-standard!) so-called bonded sailmaker's thread. Due to its special properties, this yarn is by far the most suitable for outdoor applications.
It is durable(very UV-resistant, abrasion-resistant), resistant to salt water, strong and still fairly stretchy.
Our polyester sailmaker yarn can be used for both machine sewing (needle thickness 90-120) and hand sewing.
